COMMUNITY BUILDER
The council is currently exploring the introduction of a Community Builder role, aimed at strengthening connections across the village and supporting residents of all ages.
Working in a flexible and responsive way, this paid, part-time role would focus on bringing people together, supporting local activities, and helping to reduce isolation. This could include informal support for residents, helping to organise small community gatherings such as coffee mornings, and improving communication across the parish.
The role would also look to encourage volunteering, identify local skills and community assets, and support ideas or initiatives that help enhance village life. By working closely with residents and local groups, the aim is to build a stronger, more connected and inclusive community.
This is intended as a pilot approach, giving the Parish Council an opportunity to explore how best to support community wellbeing in a practical and sustainable way, with potential to develop the role further in the future.
